General Information:

 

Welcome to the Stanly County Schools Student Enrollment and Transfer Request application. This application is used for Student Enrollment and the various types of transfer tasks listed below. If you prefer an assignment for your child for the 2024-2025 school year OTHER than his/her assigned school, you may request a transfer between February 1, 2024 and May 15, 2024.

Please note the deadline for applying to the Dual Language Immersion program at Endy Elementary (kindergarten only) is April 30, 2024.

Notification regarding your request will be made through this online portal after the application window has closed.

All applications will be checked for accuracy. Any falsification of information may result in your request not being processed and/or denied.

Process Descriptions:

  • District Release: For Stanly County residents whose children are attending school outside of Stanly County.
  • New Enrollments Grades 1-12: For students who are NOT currently enrolled with Stanly County Schools.
  • New Kindergarten Enrollment: For students who are NOT currently enrolled with Stanly County Schools.
  • In-District Re-Enrollment: For CURRENT Stanly County Schools' students who are switching schools because of an address change.

Transfers within Stanly County Schools:

Important! The 2024-2025 Student Transfer application window will be open February 1, 2024 - May 15, 2024.
  • Applications for transfer and supporting documentation must be received by the end of the day on May 15, 2024. 
  • The District Transfer Committee will follow board policy #4025 in determining transfer decisions. Notification of the Committee’s decision will be made by the end of May.

Transfers from outside of Stanly County:

Important! The 2024-2025 Student Transfer application window will be open February 1, 2024 - May 15, 2024.
  • Applications for transfer and supporting documentation must be received by the end of the day on May 15, 2024.
  • The District Transfer Committee will determine transfer decisions based on space availability after processing in-county requests. Notification of the Committee’s decision will be made by the end of May.
  • All out-of-county transfers MUST apply annually AND submit an annual release form from the district of residency.

Applications for District Release:

  • Applications for release from Stanly County Schools require Board of Education approval.
  • Applications received by the first of each month are presented to the Board of Education at the next Board Meeting. 
  • Notification of the Board’s decision will be sent through the Family Dashboard by the end of the next business day following the Board Meeting. 

Applications for Oakboro Choice STEM School:

  • Applications and supporting documentation must be received by the end of the day on March 15, 2024.
  • Out-of-county applications will be accepted on a space available basis after processing in-county requests. A separate Student Transfer application is required for all out-of-county applicants.
  • If acceptance is given to an out-of-county resident, an application for out-of-county transfer must also be completed once the acceptance decision is known.
